Join the Cedar Ridge Kitchen Crew

The Cedar Ridge kitchen crew could use a few more volunteers to help with the Wednesday night Friends & Family meal beginning January 11th at the Broken Arrow Campus. If you would be interested in helping in any of the following areas, please contact Connie Smedley.

  • Cooking Help
  • Serving Help – begin at 5:00 p.m. (food service or drink service)
  • Cleaning Help (dishes, trash, clean tables)

Kids Zone Store

In the Kids Zone Store, children buy fun items with “KidsZone Bucks”, earned by memorizing Bible verses. We’re looking for donations of new, small toys and trinkets that could be used as “inventory” in the Kids Zone store. Drop off your donations in the Kids Zone or at the church office. Questions? New Member Class Begins September 11 at BA Campus

Have you placed membership with Cedar Ridge in the last few months? If so, this four week class is for you! The New Member class will meet from September 11 – October 2  at 9:00 a.m. in room 348 at the BA Campus. This class covers Cedar Ridge history, introduces the staff and elders, provides information regarding many CRCC ministries, and more. Please let us know you plan to attend by signing up on the Bulletin Communication Card or by calling the church office, 254-0621.

New Journey Group Forming at Sapulpa Campus

Led by Karen Martin, this group will meet on Wednesday nights during Awana (6:30 – 8:00 p.m.) at the church building. Primarily designed for young mothers, this group will offer encouragement and support for the hard but rewarding task of being a “mom”.

In addition to the regular weekly gatherings for Middle School and High School students listed below, be sure to save these dates for other fall activities:

Wednesday Night Programming for Kids Resumes September 7

Beginning September 7, Wednesday night programming will resume at the BA Campus for kids (ages 2 years – 5th grade). A Fellowship meal will be offered for families at 5:30 p.m. Then kids can head over to the Preschool Area or the Kids Zone from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. for their fun and exciting classes.

MEND in Dire Need of Diapers

The MEND Pregnancy Resource Center is currently in dire need of diapers, sizes 3, 4, 5, & 6. Please drop off any donations at the Women’s Minis’tree chest in the kitchen hallway, BA Campus. For more information, please contact Nancy Adams.

National Missionary Convention

November 17-20  •  Atlanta, Georgia

Be sure to mark your calendars for the 2011 National Missionary Convention: “Commissioned”. The convention will be held in Atlanta, Georgia November 17-20 and will offer many workshops and exhibits, as well as special programming for students and children. Your convention registration has already been paid by the Cedar Ridge Global Outreach Team (formerly “Missions Committee”). More convention details are available at nationalmissionaryconvention.org.

Joplin Tornado Relief

Cedar Ridge Christian Church is working with I.D.E.S. (International Disaster Emergency Services) for monetary donations to help aid the victims of  the tornado that hit Joplin, MO on May 22. IDES serves as a channel for Christian Churches, Churches of Christ and individual Christians to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people in disaster areas around the world.  All funds go directly to the disaster area.

Cedar Ridge Hires New Connections Minister

Cedar Ridge has hired Bryan Champ to serve as our new Connections Minister. He will be taking on a leadership role in our Adult Ministries, with primary responsibilities of leading a team that will help adults, at all of our campuses, connect in a group (Adult Bible Fellowship Class or Journey Group) and connect in an area of service.

Bryan is a 2003 graduate of Ozark Christian College and has been serving in youth ministry since that time. Bryan and his wife, Kristi, have two children, Kyler and Kamrin. They will be moving from the Oklahoma City area where they have been in ministry at Antioch Christian Church in Moore. May 15th was Bryan’s first Sunday at Cedar Ridge.
