Cedar Ridge Hires New Connections Minister

Cedar Ridge has hired Bryan Champ to serve as our new Connections Minister. He will be taking on a leadership role in our Adult Ministries, with primary responsibilities of leading a team that will help adults, at all of our campuses, connect in a group (Adult Bible Fellowship Class or Journey Group) and connect in an area of service.

Bryan is a 2003 graduate of Ozark Christian College and has been serving in youth ministry since that time. Bryan and his wife, Kristi, have two children, Kyler and Kamrin. They will be moving from the Oklahoma City area where they have been in ministry at Antioch Christian Church in Moore. May 15th was Bryan’s first Sunday at Cedar Ridge.

Monthly Skeet Shoots

Skeet shooters take note. It is that time of year to get back out there and blow up some of those crafty and evasive little orange clay pigeons. Below is a schedule of the CRCC monthly outing to the range to test your skill, brag about it, or encourage someone else.

Tulsa Gun Club at 9104 E. Mohawk Road (56th street North ¼ mile west of Mingo in Tulsa) has been gracious enough to allow us back and to give the discounted rate to shoot. We will shoot 2 rounds at $4.00 per round (total $8.00); each round is 25 shots. Everyone who plans to shoot should bring ammo (or borrow from a friend). You will also want to bring eye protection and ear plugs, which are required. We also recommend a hat. Safety is our top priority!

We’ll start at 9:30 a.m. and end around 12:00. If you would like to shoot more after the two rounds, that will be up to you and the availability of fields at the Tulsa Gun club.

If you can go or know others who would be interested (or maybe you know someone wanting to shoot for the first time), be sure to sign up each month at the Men’s Ministry Table, BA Campus, or by contacting Wendell Fichtner. We’re looking forward to another fun-filled and safe year.

Mark your calendars for these dates:

  • March 26
  • April 30
  • May 21
  • June 25
  • July 16
  • August 27
  • September 17
  • October 22

How You Can Help Japan’s Earthquake Victims

We encourage you and your family to continue to pray for the people of Japan. The recent earthquake and tsunami has killed 10,000 people and many more are missing after what is being called the most expensive disaster ever. You can make a difference by making a donation to International Disaster Emergency Services at www.ides.org or by sending a check to I.D.E.S. (Disaster), P.O. Box 60, Kempton, IN 46049. All of your donation will go to the the field to assist in relief efforts.

Volunteer Needed to Deliver Sermon Video

A volunteer is needed to deliver the sermon video to the Sapulpa Campus on the 4th Sunday of each month. The video would be picked up at the BA Campus immediately following the 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday and driven to the Sapulpa Campus. If you would like to help in this way, please sign up on Sunday’s Bulletin Communication Card or contact the church office at 254-0621.

“Just One” Challenge November 14

In Matthew 9:37-38 Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”  How many more workers would it take to make a difference?  The answer is just one more.

That’s why the presidents of all 33 Christian colleges have joined together to issue the Just One Challengewill you pray for just one more worker for the harvest field?

On Sunday, November 14, 2010, congregations across the country will join together in Matthew 9:38 prayer. This Just One Sunday is an opportunity for us to obey our Lord’s command to “ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Ask God to show you one person – a potential kingdom worker – for whom you could pray; then pray for that person by name every day. You may want to give your “just one” a word of encouragement or plant in their mind the idea that God might want to call them to ministry. In God’s power, every single kingdom worker can leave a lasting influence.

New Cedar Ridge “Global Outreach Team”

In the past hour:
1,625 children were forced to live on the streets
1,667 children died from malnutrition or disease
115 children became prostitutes
257 children were orphaned because of HIV/Aids

It gets worse…
2 billion people in the world  today have never ever heard of Jesus

We, as a church, believe God wants us to do something about this. On Thursday, October 21, a new era in Cedar Ridge world mission outreach begins. The Global Outreach Team (GO Team) is a group of people who pray for and encourage 19 missionaries and missions organizations that Cedar Ridge partners with throughout the world. We need your help. Together, we can make a difference!

Join us on October 21 from 6:30  to 8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, BA Campus, for our first GO Team gathering. Our speaker will be Chris DeWelt, Missions Director at Ozark Christian College. We invite you to get involved in a hands-on way to promote missions and to pray and encourage those on the front lines of global outreach.
