Fill a Bottle – Save a Life!

The MEND Pregnancy Resource Center is one of the areas supported by CRCC’s Women’s Minis’tree. MEND is a private, non-profit, life affirming organization whose purpose is to help women find and implement positive, loving solutions for unplanned pregnancies. This ministry encourages women to choose life by offering support and assistance during these times of crisis.

Beginning Sunday, June 13, we’ll begin the “Fill a Bottle – Save a Life” drive.  Empty baby bottles will be available at both entrances to the BA Campus Worship Center. Pick up a bottle (or two or more!), take them home, and fill with your loose change. All the proceeds from this event will be used to provide a free ultrasound to women who are considering abortion.

Once the bottles have been filled, please drop them off at the Welcome Center. Any checks collected should be made payable to MEND. Please have your bottles turned in no later than July 25th.

For more information, please contact Nancy Adams or Robin Smith.

Men’s Ministry to Work With Chapel Creation Coalition

“…I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

The Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy, OK, does not have a worship center or adequate classroom space for faith-based rehabilitation programs. Many volunteers are available to teach classes but there are not enough classrooms. The Center wants to offer classes teaching positive behavior roles, anger management, biblical definitions of manhood, responsible living and spiritual healing, and numerous others; as well as providing a space for the men to worship.

In the Fall of 2010, the Men’s Ministry of Cedar Ridge Christian Church will help the Chapel Creation Coalition build a chapel in the Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy, OK. We are inviting all CRCC men and women to the next Dick Conner Chapel Project meeting, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. at God’s Shining Light Church, 9897 E. 11th St., Tulsa, 74128.

The evening will begin with a light supper at 6:00 followed by the business meeting at 7:00. For more information, contact Craig Fisher.

Joyful Sounds

Does your child have a desire to serve, sing, play an instrument, read a Bible verse, or hum a tune? Then Joyful Sounds is for them!

All 1st-12th Graders are invited to participate in this exciting service project. Those interested will provide special music and read Bible verses for the worship services at the Woodland Terrace Assisted Living Complex. Students meet at the church, BA Campus, on Sunday mornings. They travel to Woodland Terrace at 9:20 a.m. and return to the church by 10:15 a.m. Each child serves one to two times per semester.

For more information, please contact Michelle Steward.

Mend Pregnancy Resource Center Donations Very Low

The Mend Pregnancy Resource Center has had a drop in much-needed donations for the current year. They are currently in need of many items including:

  • Diapers: sizes 2, 3, and 4
  • New and used clothing
  • Car seats (new and used)

Please drop off donated items in the kitchen hallway, BA Campus, or contact Nancy Adams.

Journey Groups looking for a service project might want to consider supporting Mend, either financially or by rounding up some of the needed items.

Tours of the Mend Medical Facility are being offered on April 20 & 22. Meet their staff and get a first-hand look at one of the areas supported by CRCC’s Women’s Minis’tree.  Find out more…
